Candidates for deputies meet with tourism workers in Holguín

Ines María Chapman Waugh, Vice Prime Minister of Cuba, together with other candidates for deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power for the municipality of Banes, in Holguín, spoke today with tourism workers, as part of the exchanges with the population prior to the national elections on March 26.
In her visit to the Brisas and Club Amigo tourist facilities, in Guardalavaca, she was accompanied by Oleidi Emilio Silva, director of a cooperative, and Alejandro Gómez Torres de Cádiz Hernández, territorial delegate of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, also representatives for that demarcation.
Chapman Waugh noted the importance of the productive chain in agriculture, as a way to facilitate import substitution in the tourism sector, especially in fresh, pickled and canned fruits, essential for economic development.
She was also interested in the payment of salaries, the availability of bottled water and the importation of beverages to maintain the status of the facility, in addition to the creation of children's houses as an alternative to increase benefits for working mothers.
She addressed the complexity of the Cuban economy, including the intense drought, for which a broad investment program is being carried out; as well as the difficulties in housing and roads, among most reiterated problems in people’s councils.
She highlighted the relevance of the application of measures to improve the business sector, which benefit the community as well as link to local development the contributions of the tourism industry of more than 20 million pesos per month to the territorial budget.
Sol Pupo, commercial specialist of "Brisas Guardalavaca", highlighted the measures adopted for the benefit of vulnerable populations and the united vote as a continuity strategy of the Cuban Revolution.
The vice prime minister also referred to the importance of Holguín as a competitive destination in the Caribbean region, while designing options to promote traditions, national identity and reverting them to improving living conditions.
For his part, Alejandro Torres Gómez de Cádiz Hernández, also a candidate for deputy to the National Assembly described the exchange process in the communities as transparent, in addition to enriching and deepening the main problems of the population of the municipality, known as the archaeological capital of Cuba.
Guardalavaca tourist destination has as main markets Canada and Germany, as well as a high number of repeat customers and stays of more than five months, among the main work results. (Source: ACN)
