Holguin is activated to celebrate National Fire Protection Week

With the traditional parade of the Fire Department's technique through the streets of this city of Holguín and an act of recognitions in the CUPET unit of Güirabito, on the 14th of the current month, the National Week of Fire Protection will begin in this northeastern Cuban province, preceded by various activities at municipal level. This 52nd edition of the day, which will conclude on the 20th with practical demonstrations in the city of Gibara, coinciding with the culmination of the popular exercise "Meteor-2018", will contribute to raise awareness of the urgent need to avoid accidents, whose consequences can be fatal.
¨ What it is about is to raise awareness among the population on how to avoid such events, which are not usually so accidental; to socialize and consolidate the safety culture in the work centers, and continue to strengthen the role of state agencies and institutions in matters of prevention, "said Ofelio Medina Caballero, president of the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Cuba (ABVC) in this Province of Holguin.
The program designed for this National Week of Fire Protection includes, in addition to visits to residential areas and economic objectives, meetings with organizations and entities, with state workers and on their own, while the provincial meeting of Circles of Interest will be held Pioneriles, and the traditional skills competition with professional and auxiliary forces of the Cuban Fire Department (CBC), in Command 25.
There will also be recognitions to organizations and people who have excelled in tasks of prevention and confrontation, among other activities designed for this Week number 52 of Fire Protection, which will take place in the year in which we will celebrate the anniversaries 322 of the first Fire Department of Cuba and 151 of Holguin, said Medina Caballero. /Radio Angulo
