In the municipality of Banes they work in the territorial self-supply program that is planned to be implemented as of next June, as expressed by the government authorities in the territory. With such purpose a group composed of executives that have an impact on the production of food, such as the Delegation of Agriculture, Land Control, Irrigation and Mechanization, Citrus Enterprise and Storage, which is responsible for structuring this strategy.
It aims to ensure the nutritional needs of the entire population in the territory through the monthly sale of 30 pounds per capita of vegetables, grains and fruits, with quality and assortment.
This program requires a systematic check at the level of producers, collectors and marketers, applying initiatives with solutions to the difficulties that may arise to achieve their improvement.
