Holguín towards the progressive opening of its services

After several days of easing the restrictive measures for the control of COVID-19 in several municipalities in the province ofHolguín, responsibility is imposed to continue reducing the spread of the disease.
Although in the last 15 days the eastern territory has experienced a decrease in the number of daily positives, a wide dispersion of the new coronavirus is maintained, for which the protection measures established by the health authorities must be extreme, including social distancing, the use of the nasobuco (face mask) and the constant washing of the hands, mainly in open spaces.
Compliance with biosafety standards in public establishments, such as cafeterias and stores, is also essential for containing the pandemic, which exceeds 54 thousand confirmed cases since January 2020 to date, with the greatest complexity between August and September.
Amarilis Pupo, head of the Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, highlighted the importance of the individual responsibility of each citizen in the protection of personal and family health.
She also streesed the need of continuing to protect pregnant women, children and the elderly as the most vulnerable sectors of society, even with vaccination and other measures adopted to reduce their exposure to SARS-CoV-2.
In the eastern territory, more than 85 percent of the population over two years of age has received at least one dose of the Cuban vaccines Abdala and Soberana 02.
Holguín currently has an active event of community transmission, more than 600 foci in epidemiological surveillance and a daily report between 200 and 400 patients confirmed with the new coronavirus, according to data provided by the Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology in the territory.
