Roberto Clejer, general director of the educational center, told the Cuban News Agency the importance of this contribution to the increase of quality in the different training programs for students and teachers and also in the contribution to the Cuban economy.

He pointed out among the main sources of income those related to compensated undergraduate courses, in which only about a hundred young people from the Republic of Angola are involved.

Master's and doctorate degrees involving several professionals from Latin America, the collaboration of Holguin professors in foreign universities and the development of large-scale events such as the International Conference of the University, have also contributed to economy, he said.

Clejer stressed the value of these income channels to show scientific results and certification of academic programs in accordance with international requirements for the technological and professional development of universities.

The University of Holguin currently has eight faculties, seven study centers, 45 degrees and some 1,800 professors, with enrollment of more than 20,000 students in the various study modalities. / ACN
