The five factories in the province dedicated to the processing of tobacco accumulate sufficient quantities of physical units in silos, which only wait for the total coating components for delivery to the commercial lines of the Habanos Company S.A.
Martín added that the economic indicators also show stable results when registering foreign currency income to date above 17 million pesos, of the 25 million 325 thousand foreseen in the company's plan for 2020.
The province of Holguín is among the largest producers of tobacco for export, because although it is not included among the most comprehensive in the cultivation of the leaf, it has the industrial capacity to process the raw material it receives from other territories leaders in this area, such as Pinar del Río and Sancti Spíritus, mainly.
The five Holguín factories specialized in this area are located in the municipalities of Gibara, Rafael Freyre and the provincial capital; while for national production, its industrial network extends to another 10 facilities belonging to Tabacuba, in addition to those dedicated to cigarettes, said Emilio del Toro, deputy director of the entity.
