Belarus has been the first European country to register a Cuban COVID-19 vaccine after its regulatory authority approved the use of Soberana Plus, one of the island’s homegrown products to fight the disease.

Cimavax-EGF, a Cuban therapeutic vaccine against lung cancer, conquers the scientific community and the population of the United States based on the achievements compiled in studies carried out.

For the first time in Cuba, the patient will undergo a molecular and a clinical diagnosis for this disease.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel praised today the success of the COVID-19 pediatric immunization program launched in the country in preventing any decease among children and shared the results of a study by the Pedro Kourí Tropical Medicine Institute proving that, during the Omicron surge, the vaccine Soberana was 90.1% effective in the 2 to 5 age group and 95.8% in children between the ages of two and eighteen.
