Health sector in Holguín awards scientific results

The 46th Edition of the Province's Annual Health Award Contest 2023, awarded 25 works by professionals, technicians and students presented in the final scientific contest, which on this occasion was distinguished by the number of participants and broad representation achieved by Primary Health Care (PHC).
Dr. Adelmar Agüero Uliver, president of the Provincial Council of Scientific Societies, said that all the proposed lines of research were contested and the most represented categories were master's theses and medical specialties; scientific articles and technical scientific books and results.
The most addressed research lines were referred to maternal-infant and reproductive health; population aging and chronic non-communicable diseases, among others.
The works that will represent the province in the National Competition to be held in December of this year will be informed later, once the Scientific Committee of the Annual Health Award-2023 makes its final verdict.
Dr. Julio Yamel Verdecia, Provincial Director of Public Health, highlighted the results of this event, which involved nearly 90 doctors, technicians, nursing staff, graduates, engineers and technicians.
The Province's Annual Health Award Contest 2023is the highest recognition conferred by the Ministry of Public Health to professionals with relevant research results.
