Ediciones La Luz wins Puertas de Papel Award 2019 at Book Fair

Photo: ACNThe Ediciones La Luz publishing house, belonging to the Hermanos Saiz Association in Holguin, has won the 2019 Puertas de Papel Award for the selection of stories Mar de invierno y otros delirios (Winter Sea and other delusions), by writer Alberto Garrandes, during the International Book Fair taking place in Havana.
The book was edited by Adalberto Santos and designed by Frank Alejandro Cuesta. This same editorial was granted a mention for complicity of the poetry of Virgilio Lopez Lemus.
Jesus Davis Curbelo, president of the jury, said that the winning works were selected for the quality of the content, originality in the treatment of the topics, cultural impact and the thorough work of editing and design.
The Puerta de Papel Award is convened by the Cuban Book Institute and is granted to the most recognized books of the Territorial Edition System during the year.
