The twenty-eighth Provincial Concert Music Day started Thursday in Holguín dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Comandante Eddy Suñol Theater and the 300th of the foundation of the town of Holguín.
Since its beginnings in 1984, this event is characterized by grouping the most select classical music of the province and other regions of the country.
The opening concert held at the Alex Urquiola Provincial Library was performed by the Holguín Chamber Orchestra and local poets Delfín Prats, Luis Yusef and Lourdes González.
According to Maestro Orestes Saavedra, director of the Chamber Orchestra, this was a very special moment for being a concert in the Arena Theater style.
This edition of the event includes concerts by the Choir of the Orfeón Holguín, the Jazz Band of students of the José María Ochoa Professional School of Music, the Búsqueda y Encuentro Project of the Lyric Theater, as well as the Holguín Symphony Orchestra that will be directed especially by maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa.
