Gibara Culture Week Begins

The 41st edition of the Gibara Culture Week begins Thursday in this northeastern coastal city of Cuba, with the traditional opening parade and the participation of the theater companies Teatro Guiñol of Holguín and Praga Zancos.
The event will, which will run until Sunday, January 14, marks the 201st anniversary of the also known as Villa Blanca and is dedicated to late Professor Juan Isaac Aguilera Fernández and the Master in Sciences Evelín Hernández, who will be honored in different spaces.
Miguel Ojeda Sánchez, Head of Programming at the Municipal Directorate of Culture in Gibara said that the amateur artists movement will take center stage in the activities planned, including the opening gala scheduled for today at 9:00 pm in the Jibá Cinema and the Night of the White Villa to take place on January 13.
On the other hand, the Hermanos Saíz Association also joins the celebration with the tattoo festival My Body Art, on Friday, at Casa del Joven Creador.
The agenda also includes the event the Night of Traditions, to be held on the 15th with the performance of the Rodrigo Prats Lyric Theater of Holguin.
