Holguín: IX National Seminar to the General of the Three Wars convened

The Martí´s Youth Movement in co-sponsorship with the General Calixto García Íñiguez Senior Chair of the University of Holguín, the Calixto García Birthplace Museum and the Plaza de la Revolución Monumentary Complex, call to participate in the IX edition of the National Youth Seminar "Al General de las Tres Guerras", to take place in the city of Holguín from December 8 to 11, 2024.

The event aims to promote the debate on the thoughts and actions of Major General Calixto García Íñiguez. Historians, researchers, workers, students of all educational levels, up to 35 years of age, may participate.

The following modalities will be admitted: poetry, essay, music, painting, sculpture, drawing, biography, narrative, software and digital designs. In addition, compositions and biographical syntheses made by pioneers.

The following topics may be addressed: Incorporation of Calixto García Íñiguez to the War of '68; His actions in the Little War; Calixto García in the Spanish-Cuban-North American War; His military strategic thinking and The study of the figure of the Major General in school and academic programs.

The speakers will present their works in digital version adhering to the following structure: title, author(s) - maximum of three -, scientific or academic degree, institution to which they belong, email address, telephone number, subject to which they contribute, author's identity number (if there are several, only the main author will be referred to), summary of no more than 250 words and up to 5 keywords, introduction, development and conclusions.

The works must be presented in Arial 12 format, 1.5 line spacing, letter sheet, 2.5 margin and with a maximum length of 10 pages, including annexes, if any. In addition, in-person submissions will be accepted in the departments of Marxism-Leninism and History of the University of Holguín or in the Provincial Committee of the UJC. The deadline for admission of works expires on November 27, 2024, at 8:00 am.

This event is positioned as a fundamental space for reflection and academic exchange around the necessary figure of Calixto García in our history.
