The 30th Book Fair concludes in Holguín

The Holguín Book Fair in its 30th edition closed on Sunday with a concert dedicated to the family by the renowned singer-songwriter for children Lidis Lamorú.
Lamorú, who was recognized by the Provincial Center for Books and Literature for her 27-year artistic career, thanked her for the respect and trust she has always had and shared songs from her album Luz y Corazón as well as some songs from the new phonogram “El mundo de tito”, which is a collaboration with the Instituto Latino de la Música.
Prior to the concert, at the solemn hall of La Periquera, Ediciones Holguín was presented with the Ax, the highest distinction granted by the Government of this northeastern territory, a recognition that endorses the literary work of the publishing house for more than 35 years with a wide catalog of authors and works.
Likewise, the writers Eugenio Marron and Manuel García Verdecia, to whom the Holguín Book Fair was dedicated, received the 60th Anniversary seal of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, as well as the writers and researchers Moisés Mayán , Angela Peña, José Rojas Bez, Ronel González, José Luis Serrano and Agustín Mulet.
The Holguín Book Fair that took place from May 26 to 29, made available to readers some 390 literary novelties and more than 300,000 copies.
In addition to the proposals of the five publishing houses of the province, Ediciones Holguín, La Mezquita, Ediciones La Luz, Papiro and Conciencia Ediciones, the Fair included books by Cuban and foreign publishers.
Dedicated to Mexico as guest of honor, the eastern city recognized the writers Eugenio Marrón and Manuel García Verdecia, the university book, as well as the 25th anniversary of Ediciones La Luz and the 60th anniversary of the local newspaper ¡ahora!
