Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero said on Tuesday that his country and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are working to boost mutual relations in renewable energies, agriculture, tourism and biotechnology.
Marrero told local reporters in Dubai that Cuba expects benefits from its experience with the UAE to develop different sectors, PL news agency reported.
The Cuban Premier signed a MOU to exchange government modernization and development experience as a proof of the strengthening of bilateral relations, which have become more dynamic since Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel visited the UAE last November.
He said that Cuba, a high consumer of fossil fuels, counts on the support of the UAE to develop different renewable energy projects.
In agriculture, the two countries are considering the possibility for the UAE to finance joint projects to produce food in Cuba.
During the World Governments Summit, Marrero is scheduled to take part at a tourism forum and meet with representatives of five local airlines on opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
On Tuesday, the UAE Foreign Minister announced a joint project with Cuba and Brazil to improve cooperation in food security, as agreed to during the COP 28 last December.
