Cuban Parliament convenes for its first Ordinary Session

The first Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) in its 10th Legislature will be held on July 20, at the Convention Center in Havana, starting at 9:00 a.m.
Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the legislature, convened this session today, in the exercise of the powers conferred by Article 111, paragraph c, of the Constitution of the Republic.
The 10th Legislature of the Cuban Parliament was constituted last April 19, and is made up of 470 deputies, who will be responsible for representing the interests of the people for the next five years.
Among the elected representatives, the average age is 46 years old and 226 are women (55.74%), 93 young people under 35 years old (19.79%) and 167 current deputies (35.53%), and 442 are graduates of Higher Education. (Source: ACN)
