The Cuban children's theater company La Colmenita gave another excellent performance, this time in the capital of the United States, the last stop of a tour that also included Tampa and New York.

The Prize for poetry and décima “Fidel entre nosotros”, convened by the Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC) in the province of Holguín and co-sponsored by the Provincial Council of Casas de Cultura, was awarded to the poet Osmari Reyes García and décima singer Gerardo Muñoz Aguirre, from the municipalities of Mayarí and Sagua de Tánamo, respectively.
