The sessions of the First Itinerant Congress of Ophthalmology will conclude in Holguín, on May 17, after its development throughout the country since March, under the auspices of the Cuban Society of this medical specialty and the Ramón Pando Ferrer Cuban Institute of Ophthalmology.

A total of 89.8 % of the Cuban population has already completed the vaccination program against COVID-19, with the immunogens developed in the country, Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala.

Most of the lit torches that will descend tonight, down the steps of the University of Havana, and those that will cross other streets in the country, were prepared by children and their mothers and fathers. In these torches lies the metaphor of much of what we are as a nation.
