The omnibus spending bill approved by the United States Congress last week, to fund the government until mid-2018, includes $20 million USD for subversion against Cuba and $600 million for border security with Mexico, which President Donald Trump plans to use to build a wall.

The ministry of culture, the Cuban institute of cinema art and industry (ICAIC), the government of Holguin and the government of Gibara have called for participation in the 16th Gibara International Film Festival (FIC Gibara 2020), to be held on July 5-11 in this eastern Cuban city.

The 3rd Workshop for English teachers of Higher Education will take place on January 25 and 26 at the University of Holguin, in order to exchange experiences in terms of challenges and expectations of teaching this language in the basic skills comprehension, listening and writing.
