Authorities from the Ministry of Energy and Mines report that recovery efforts continue in several cities and communities in eastern Cuba, severely affected by the recent passage of Hurricane Melissa.
Through his account on the social network X, the Minister, Vicente de la O Levy, assured that work is already underway in the recovery of many affected cities and communities in eastern Cuba, and roads are being reopened where access has been more difficult. “We will reach everyone. We will move forward and we will overcome!” the minister expressed in his message.
The recovery efforts include restoring electrical service, clearing debris, distributing basic resources, and providing support to affected families, in coordination with Civil Defense agencies and local governments. Brigades are being deployed from several provinces across the country to support the restoration of electrical service impacted by Hurricane Melissa, a storm that damaged infrastructure, crops, and homes.
In a recent meeting of the National Defense Council, authorities reiterated the Cuban State’s commitment to leaving no one without assistance and to moving quickly with the recovery efforts. (Source: Radio Angulo)
