The 31st edition of the Ibero-American Culture Festival begins today with a concert by the Holguín Symphony Orchestra and the Cobre Steel Band from Santiago de Cuba. It brings together over 100 participants from more than 12 countries.
The festival, dedicated to culture and sustainable development, will run until the 30th with a program aimed at reaffirming its inclusive nature and its commitment to exchange, reflection, and the promotion of art in its various forms.
Activities will include the Virtual Ibero-American Visual Arts Exhibition, dedicated to the region's cultural diversity, and the Third Paper Artists' Meeting, which celebrates the 90th anniversary of Electa Arenal.
The agenda also includes the Ibero-American Audiovisual Exhibition, the Iberoarte Crafts Fair, the Salón Lote, and the Artistic Solidarity Brigades.
On the other hand, the Ibero-American Congress of Thought will celebrate its 20th anniversary with more than 100 speakers, both virtual and in-person, and will address topics such as albinism in Cuba on its academic agenda, with the participation of representatives from the UN and social movements from Argentina.
Given the weather forecast related to the evolution and trajectory of Tropical Storm Melissa, the Provincial Directorate of Culture and the Organizing Committee of the Ibero-American Culture Festival announced that they have decided to continue the event, conditions permitting, with a minimal program that can be held at the venues planned for the coming days.
