Labor rights guaranteed for people with disabilities in Holguín

The Provincial Company of Local Industries (AVIL) of Holguín offers various job opportunities to people from disability organizations in the province in the state's workshops and ensures their labor rights and guarantees.
According to Ismara Fleita Limonta, director of the organization, the province has 14 workshops for individuals with disabilities, which include members of the National Association of the Deaf of Cuba (ANSOC), the Cuban Association of the Physically and Motorically Disabled (ACLIFIM), and the National Association of the Blind (ANCI). These workshops provide protections, such as payment of 60 percent of their salary in the event of interruptions.
These workshops specialize in different production lines, mainly handicrafts, including cardboard, paper, carpentry, and clothing such as ropes and bags.
When a vacancy arises for a retired worker or due to the company's productive capacity, a hiring process is carried out through the organizations, which maintain a list of candidates suitable for work in one of the areas, she explained.
The company provides various services to the population in its workshops in several municipalities, including textile production for school uniforms and other items, as well as mattress repairs with the necessary insurance.
AVIL provides services based on available raw materials, which are sold at the entity's points of sale, both wholesale and retail, with all payment gateways enabled for its customers. It also facilitates the online payment option used by foreign buyers. (Source: ACN)
