Cuban President assesses Housing Construction Program in Cuba

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has assessed this week the implementation of the National Housing Program, along with senior leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba and the government, local media reported. During the meeting held on Thursday, in which the results achieved in the first semester of 2019 were reviewed, it was reported that about 20,512 homes were completed in late July, 62 percent of those planned for 2019.
Through a video conference, the president talked with authorities from the 15 provinces and the special municipality of the Isle of Youth, and was interested to learn the reasons behind non-compliance with the different phases of the program in each territory.
The head of State praised the performance of those territories that recorded the best results, among them the eastern provinces of Las Tunas and Guantanamo.
The progress of the comprehensive development program in the Holguin municipality of Moa, in eastern Cuba, as well as the national energy program, were also assessed during the meeting. /PL
