Pole Vault among the Top Sport Disciplines in Holguín

Athletics in the province of Holguín is one of the most straggler sports in national competitions, as it ranks in the 14 position due to the results achieved in the last sports event in the pioneer (11), youth (11), school (12) and social categories (9).
However, within its modalities there is a specialty that reverses this panorama, since 1997 it has been on the awards podium, at least in the school and youth championships.
Although in the national athletic events the evaluations are not individualized by modalities, the pole vault in the territory, under the guidance of the coach Mariano Cabreja Silot, has been the most stable discipline and of better results in the last two decades.
In the last National Games the Holguín athletes contributed to the score of the province with three gold medals, one silver and two bronze, to reaffirm once again among the first in the country.
Five Holguín pole-vaulters integrate now the national preselection of this sport, although according to the experienced coach.
The Holguin Lisa María Salomón, Rosaidis Robles Naranjo, from Sagua de Tánamo, current national record holder of the youth olympiad and Lázara Duboy, make up the Cuban team, along with the national champions Leyanet Peña, category 15-16 and Dilan Prade (juvenile), who were included this year.
The other Holguín medalists of the last National Games were Karel Enrique Parson (Silver) among the boys of 15-16 years of age, Rosaidis and Lázara made the one-three in the youth category for women, while Dilan and Lázaro achieved identical combination.
