Gold and Bronze Medal for Holguin Athletes in Parapan American Games

A gold and a bronze medal were won by the Holguin athletes competing in the Parapan American Games Lima-2019, which concludes on September 1st.
Athlete Ulicer Aguilera reached the title in javelin among qualified F13 (visually weak) with a throw of 59 meters and 12 centimeters in his last attempt, valid to impose continental record, which he had already achieved in his first two runs with 58, 42 and 59, 07.

On the other hand, Yanelis Silva Zamora won bronze in the individual Table Tennis tournament, class 2-3, after falling in the semifinals three sets to two against Mexico's Maria Sigala, gold medal winner.
This was the fourth consecutive medal achieved by Silva in Parapan American Games. She was champion in Rio de Janeiro-2007 and Guadalajara-2011, and won bronze medals in Toronto 2015 and now in Lima.
The other competing Holguin athlete, Henry Cuenca, of category 1, was eliminated in the group stage and now competes in the men's double alongside champion Yunier Fernandez.
