Holguin Lisandra Llaudy Ranked Third in Chess Championship

Holguin International Master (MI) Lisandra LLaudy Pupo totaled 6.5 points out of nine possible to place in the third position of the Central American and Caribbean Chess Championship held in Panama City.
Llaudy, with 2 291 ElO points, took advantage of playing with white pieces and said goodbye to the tournament with victory against the Cuban-born Costa Rican WIM Tania Hernandez, (2097) but she could not avoid the loss of seven units in her coefficient.
She previously beat Kristel Melissa Diaz (1673), from Costa Rica; to Panamanians Maria Angelica Carrillo (1727) and Yaribeth Gonzalez (1711), as well as the Cuban FIDE Teacher (MF) Geydis de la Caridad Mantilla (1983).
She tied with the Costa Rican MF Olga Leticia Gamboa (1973), the Cuban Grand Master Oleiny Linares (2198) and the talented MF, Roxángel Obregón (2287) also from Cuba.
Llaudy was defeated in the fifth round of the contest against the Cuban MI Yerisbel Miranda (2314).
Cuban Linares and Miranda ranked first and second place, respectively.
