The first medal for Holguín at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games was won by rower Félix Puentes on the second day of competition.
Puentes, along with his team members Rony Álvarez, Henry Heredia, Keiler Ávila, Adel Gutiérrez, Leduar Suárez, Robert Fernández, Roberto Paz, and Pedro González, earned the bronze medal in the coxed eight rowing event.
The Cuban team finished in third place with a time of 5:45.96, behind Brazil (Silver), with 5:45.75, and Chile, first place, with 5:42.26.
The Cuban team finished third with a time of 5:45.96, behind Chile (gold) and Brazil (silver), and ahead of Argentina (5:48.99) and Paraguay (5:57.32).
This medal is the first for the Cuban delegation at these games.
