Holguín hosts National Futsal League

The National Futsal League returns to Holguín with the local team, Los Pumas, presenting a reinforced squad combining youth and experience for the 2025 edition.
The event begins on August 1 at the Ateneo Deportivo of this Eastern city and will continue until the following Sunday.
The goalkeepers are Julio César Terrero, Ernesto Hernández Camilo, Walter Batista Peña, and Roberto Carlos Rodríguez Cutiño, coached by Luis Enrique Alapon Berrillo.
The defense will feature José Andrés Saldívar, Javier Chapman, Marcial Góngora, Julio Borrero, and Leonardo Cruz. In attack, the wings will be led by captain Alejandro Del Val Paumier, along with Jorge Mulet, Yunior Martínez, Yoarki Cabrera, Juan Pacheco, Yordanis Vaillant, and Jorge Enrique Díaz Vidal.
The offensive pivots are Rafael Pérez, José Bazán, Cristian González, and Joaquín Chapman, who will be the main options to look for the goal.
The technical staff is headed by the experienced Karel Mariño, with assistant Pedro Luis Moreno, fitness coach Eliecer Alonso, and physiotherapist Baldomero Rodríguez.
In the first round, Holguín will face the teams from Guantánamo, Santiago, and Granma in Group D, playing initially at home and then in Santiago de Cuba for the return leg. The team aims to qualify with solid and dynamic play.
