The Gran Retto Open Water Crossing will return to the Cuban resort city of Varadero with the celebration of its fourth edition scheduled for September 13-14.
Under the direction of the Mexican brand Gran Retto and sponsored by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, Cubadeportes, and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder, by its Spanish acronym), the event will be staged in the vicinity of the Los Delfines Hotel on the Hicacos Peninsula.
According to the official website of Gran Retto, swimming in one of the most beautiful beaches in the world is incredible, a premise that stands out as an incentive to bring together, as in previous editions, competitors from various nations.
Competitions in the 750 and 1,500 meter distances as well as in three, five and 10 kilometers, each of them divided by age, will be part of the program of the event.
The Gran Retto Open Water Race in Varadero, as usual, will offer first aid medical assistance, according to the website.
Since its origin, in the year 2022, swimmers from Mexico, the United States, Peru, Spain, and Cuba attended the event under the additional incentive of witnessing one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with a mixture of tourism and sport in each stroke. (Source: Prensa Latina)
