Two Cubans exalted to America's Wrestling Hall of Fame

Cubans Filiberto Delgado and Eduardo Perez were exalted today to the prestigious Hall of Fame of Wrestling in America, in a ceremony held in Acapulco, Mexico.
Delgado, current coach of the women's national wrestling team, has been linked to this combat sport for more than three decades, first at the helm of the men's national teams of Cuba and Italy, and now with the women, with excellent results at all levels.
In the case of Perez, he was president of the Cuban Wrestling Federation from 2008 to 2016, and a member of the executive of the Pan American organization of that discipline.
According to Prensa Latina, a total of 10 figures linked to wrestling in different areas were elevated to immortality at the ceremony: two leaders, three former athletes, an equal number of coaches and two referees.
The ceremony is part of the program of the Olympic Qualifiers for the summer event of Paris 2024, which begins today in Acapulco. (Source: ACN)
