Japanes authorities issue guidelines to Olympics to ensure safety

The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee on Wednesday issued the first of a series of guidelines on responsibilities to ensure the safety and success of this summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games.
According to the Executive Director of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Christophe Dubi, the publication of the guidelines expresses the absolute commitment to the health and welfare of all those invited to the events under the five rings in Tokyo.
With the IOC's and the International Paralympic Committee's (IPC) support, the Tokyo 2020 preparatory group provided a framework of basic principles for each group of participants, including measures to be taken before traveling to Japan.
According to event, the first of the guidelines is addressed to International Federations and technical officials while those for athletes and the media will be published in the upcoming days.
The Games' organizers referred that those documents that constitute the official and centralized source of information for those involved in the Olympic celebration and will be updated in the upcoming months in accordance with the health situation generated by Covid-19.
This first edition includes many of the measures accepted and in force in much of the world in terms of personal hygiene, testing and screening, to avoid infection by the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2.
The guidelines will provide the typical route for each group, starting with the steps to be taken 14 days prior to the arrival in Japan's capital.
