Priseworthy result to Holguín athlete in Weightlifting World Cup

Photo: By the authorThe Holguín athlete Dayanis Escobar Cruz today finished in third place in the 45 kg division of group B in the U-17 Weightlifting World Cup, Peru 2020, which takes place online from today until the 18 of this month.
Native from the municipality of Urbano Noris and an athlete of the sports school Pedro Díaz Coello, Escobar Cruz is the current national monarch of the 13-14 and 15-16 year old categories, according to her coach Yunior Ochoa Peña.
On Saturday, the Sagua de Tánamo’s Ángel David Enamorado Charchabal (73kg) double national champion of the school category will represent Holguín in the competition that keeps weightlifting alive in the middle of the pandemic that affects the world.
His coach Ángel Balladares Camay is optimistic to achieve a good result.
Andrés Cruz Caballero, provincial commissioner of weightlifting in Holguín confirms that the discipline will continue to be active in the month of November, since the 2020 Colombian Youth Pan American Championship will take place virtually from 20-28 and we will be represented by the national record holder of the category schoolboy Felix Patterson Fuentes (109 kg).
Located on the conditioned platform at the Calixto García baseball stadium, Dayanis lifted 50 kg in the snatch and 61 kg in the clean and jerk, for a total of 111 kg.
