Taking as examples the lands that Cubans or their descendants already claim, to explain how it would impact the aberrant legislation that they intend to assert in an extraterritorial way from the United States, started the explanation that shed light on issues such as the origin of the Law, its true implications for Cuba, the impact on the own North American citizens and the necessary struggle to be sustained by the Cuban people to face the aggressive escalation the "neighbor of north" against the island.

Members of the community addressed the historic disagreement between the United States and Cuba, the intentions of the US government to own the Cuban territory and how this is another phase of a strategy of more than two centuries.

The purpose of these neighborhood debates is not only to explain the content of the Helms Burton Law and its impact on our country, but also to make each attendee a multiplier of the message and the will to protect our own land. In this way, the prediction made by Alarcón de Quesada can be fulfilled:

We will continue here to the extent that we are able to fulfill that motto of the CDR since its foundation, which is to be with the guard up. "

In gratitude for the visit and recognition for the revolutionary work carried out for more than 60 years, the provincial museum La Periquera, National Monument, together with the Municipal Bureau of the Party and the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, delivered to Ricardo Alarcón de Quesada the Aldabón del portón de La Periquera distinction.
