Holguín Agricultural Company Receives Donation from China

A total of 52 agricultural machinery donated by the People's Republic of China arrived to the Agricultural Company Guatemala, belonging to the Holguín province, for use in the rice program.
"We received three harvesters with a cutting capacity of 20 tons per day; 8 transplant machines that streamline the process of plants transplanting that were made by hand and with this technology contributes to sow the number of plants corresponding per square meter, it increases yields and humanizes the work, "explained Abel Sánchez Perdomo, director of the entity, who added that they also received 25 mills and 16 mobile tresh machines.
He added that cold season planting starts this month, while the harvest will begin in April.
This donation will favor the increase in production, since the Comprehensive Development Program of Mayarí expects to reach three thousand tons of rice in 500 hectares until 2025.
"This year we harvested 800 tons and we forecast in 2019 to produce one thousand," Sanchez said.
Currently, the yields of the company in the production of this cereal are above the planned. In this territory, rice has been a very popular crop even when there was no experience in this field, because traditionally Mayarí planted sugar cane. "
The Agricultural Company Guatemala covers three municipalities: Mayarí, Cueto and Frank País.
