Holguín will Host National Urban Planning Forum on November

Photo: Juan Pablo Carreras / AINThe city of Holguín will host the activities of the 5th National Forum of Integral Urbanism to be held on November 23 and 24 with the slogan "The city park towards the new urban agenda".
Among the main issues to address are environmental sanitation, wastewater management, urban management, local development and legal aspects of urban planning, said to the Cuban News Agency Oscar Bellido, coordinator of the Holguín Strategic Plan, city park of Cuba.
This meeting, he added, is aimed at encouraging and expanding the union of methods and good practices for the progressive implementation of a network of park cities in the country.
The event will be sponsored by the National Union of Architects and Construction Engineers of Cuba, the Provincial Directorate of Physical Planning and the Society of Architects in order to strengthen the cultural and heritage values of Cuban cities.
The workshop will be attended by some 50 guests from various provinces and the keynote addresses will be in charge of renowned researchers such as Dr. Eduardo Ávila Rumayor, director of the Casa de Iberoamérica of the city of Holguín and Dr. Luisa Íñiguez Rojas, professor of the University of Havana.
The Forum will boost the exchange of experiences, share results and contribute ideas in pursuit of the sustainable development of the nation, having Holguín as a national reference for the City Park project in progress since 2015. / AIN
