Summer Activities 2026 to begin in Holguín

The 2026 summer season will kick off in Holguín with a variety of activities aimed at promoting healthy recreation.
María Amelia Cansino Pérez, president of the summer commission in the province, pointed out that the proposals include several initiatives that offer attractive options and contribute to healthy leisure and the use of free time.
"Our main motivation is the commemoration of the centennial of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, supported by the participatory popular movement 'My Neighborhood for the Homeland' and the Community Youth Network, with the community as the primary setting," added Cansino Pérez.
Summer will officially begin on June 28th in the municipality of Holguín, while school sports festivals will be inaugurated starting at 9:00 a.m. in each municipality of the province, promoting physical activity and a competitive spirit among young people.
Victoria De la Cruz Garcés, representative of the summer commission in the municipality of Holguín, explained that the provincial capital will hold the sports festival in front of the Holguín Provincial Museum La Periquera, followed by a sports competition. Simultaneously, the Casa de Iberoamérica will hold a trade fair in San José Park, where it will exhibit local products.
