Part of Cuba's energy future lies in large investments in photovoltaic parks such as the one being built in Corúa 5, in the Holguín municipality of Mayarí.
A publication in Cubadebate website indicates that this mega investment, which will synchronize the Cuban electrical system at the end of this month, allows progress in changing the energy matrix, combining the use of renewable sources and fossil fuels.
Corúa 5 is a 21.8 MW park, which will save the country 8,500 tons of oil annually. It has an area of 22 hectares where the 1,638 tables that make up the installation are located, with 41,588 photovoltaic panels placed.
Cubadebate reports that the execution of the work is being carried out by the Engineering Construction Company ECOI 16, which has led a large team made up of other companies in the territory with many hours of intense work.
This achievement has been the result of the dedication and concern of several ministries, the authorities of the province, and the people of Mayarí.
