The main business lines, the import and export of materials and the production chains that diversify the business portfolio of Cuban and foreign creators, are among the topics addressed at the Iberoarte 2022 International Crafts Fair.
A business round, held at the Expo Holguín Fairgrounds, brought together creators, entrepreneurs and suppliers from various countries in the region participating in the event, which takes place in this eastern city until the 20 of November.
In the meeting, the subsidiary of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) presented its experiences on the various marketing offers in the areas of advertising, marketing, sale of technological equipment, furniture, raw materials and other legitimate goods and services in the national and foreign market.
It stands out the restoration of facades, carpentry and interior design of institutions of the province with heritage value, such as the Hotel Saratoga, La Periquera Provincial Museum and the Birán Historical Complex in the province of Holguín.
The interest in strengthening the line responsible for the design and manufacture of protective items, such as overalls, boots, gloves, belts, face masks and other accessories used to prevent accidents and illnesses in the workplace, was another of the proposals presented by the FCBC in the event.
For his part, Leonar Caballero, general manager of Export & Import Multi-Service, based in Bolivia, commented on the alliance that will soon link this entity with the FCBC, from an office that will be set up in the next few days in the city of Holguín, which will offer opportunities for access to import and export services for goods of all kinds.
He pointed out that the firm will initially remain in Cuba for about four years to provide artists, self-employed workers, natural and legal persons and other interested parties, the opportunity to access its services through catalogs, with the delivery of their orders to the door of the client's house.
The businessman insisted on achieving new opportunities and productive linkages with industries in the eastern territory, such as Moa Nickel S.A. Commander Pedro Soto Alba, the Combined Sugarcane Factory KTP and the Mechanical Company Heroes del 26 de Julio.
The FCBC in Holguín, one of the most important entities in the artistic and commercial development of the province, successfully prevails within the creative and socioeconomic movement in the country.
Every year the Fund organizes the Iberoarte International Craft Fair, an event that resurged after two editions postponed by Covid-19, as a bastion of the artisan tradition and the applied arts, with notable results and income.
