Ambassador of Egypt visits Holguín

His Excellency Mr. Maher El-Adawy, ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Cuba, held meeting with authorities in Holguín, with the aim of strengthening ties with this eastern Cuban territory.
Accompained by his wife Shams El-Adawy, and with the presence of Yunia Pérez Hernández, Vice Governor of the province; as well as representatives of the government, the Chamber of Commerce and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, he addressed the main potentialities of Holguín in different fields, mainly in tourism, mining and agriculture.
El-Adawy pointed out the need to promote projects, highlighted the value of trained personnel in Holguín universities and expressed the possibility of a future academic exchange, especially with the University of Moa.
He also referred to the importance of implementing two agreements recently approved by the Egyptian government; the first of them materialized in June 2021 between the Chambers of Commerce of Cuba and Egypt, and the second one implemented last week, aimed at promoting cooperation in the cultural field.
This was the first visit by an Egyptian official to the province of Holguín in more than ten years and took place within the framework of the 73rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
His Excellency Mr. Maher El-Adawy thanked the authorities of Holguín for their welcome and expressed his willigness to return to the territory, if possible, within the framework of the Ibero-American Culture Festival.
