Holguín: Secretariat of the Central Committee with an extensive agenda

The comprehensive visit of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC PCC) to the province of Holguín its first day included several municipalities, where they exchanged with the partisan militancy and labor groups of the visited centers about the state of compliance with the ideas, concepts and guidelines of the 8th Congress of the PCC.


In the municipality of Báguanos, dedicated to the production of sugar and agricultural items, Norberto Ramos Montano, deputy head of the Department of productive activities and services of the Central Committee, spoke with managers and workers of the Base Business Unit (UEB ) of Transportation to know the status of compliance with the agreements generated in the Congress of the PCC held on April, 2021.

Among the issues addressed in this entity were those referring to the results of the implementation of the measures to improve the business sector, the economic results of the entity and the discussion of the economic plan for 2022, while verifying the projections aimed at the attention of vulnerable communities in that area and the existing potentialities to solve their problems both in the constructive order and in the social and cultural area.

Antilla, located about 80 kilometers from the provincial capital, was also among the municipalities visited this Tuesday, where Santiago Burey Pérez, deputy head of the Economic Department of the political organization met with workers from the Basic Unit of Maritime Services, an entity in charge of offering port maneuver operations.

In the meeting, Burey was interested in compliance with the guidelines issued by the 8th Congress of the PCC, as well as the application of the 43 measures implemented in Cuba to boost the socialist state company, and insisted in the need to know and discuss the entity's economic plan and budget for this year.

On the other hand, Liudmila Álamo Dueñas, deputy head of the Department of attention to the social sector in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC), in her visit to municipality of Holguín exchanged with students of the IPVC José Martí, workers of the Pharmacies and Opticians (Farmox) Group and residents of areas of District 8, in the Alcides Pino Popular Council.

Álamo highlighted the importance of linking with universities in order to implement strategic projects in innovation and was interested in the functioning of the social and political organizations of the center.

She also held a meeting with directors and workers of Farmox, which in the province has a network of more than 180 community units, with some 1,460 workers, most of them direct to the attention of the population.

Saydanys Góngora López, general director of Farmox, explained that at the moment they have 120 drug shortages and 19 lines with low coverage, which has led to work in the production of natural and traditional medicine, to cushion the deficit of certain drugs.

In this regard, the official referred to the imperative of achieving better dispensing, control and sale of medicines and above all to strengthen science and innovation in the entity, to expand the productive capacity and go to the productive chain with other centers in the province.

Liudmila Álamo, together with the Delegate of District 8 and other sectors from that community, toured the streets of El Yarey and La Yabita, one of the most vulnerable communities in the province, where several families have been helped with personal and household goods.

In the place, several neighbors showed personal and collective dissatisfactions, among them problems with the housing fund, the water supply, the roads, the sewage service and public lighting.
