Cuba's mission in China to take new measures against coronavirus

Cuba's embassy in China reported on Monday that it is preparing the implementation of new preventive actions while China gradually returns to normal amid the new coronavirus epidemics.
According to Ambassador Carlos Miguel Pereira, in that phase Cubans will do what it takes, they will maintain and update the hygienic-sanitary and epidemiological surveillance measures to continue avoiding contagion and comply with the instructions of the local authorities.
The Changheber mixed plant - he detailed - should continue contributing to the confrontation with the virus with the production of recombinant Interferon Alfa 2B, an antiviral obtained on Cuba and included in therapies applied to coronavirus patients.
He also cited that Cuban scientists will continue their contribution to the search for vaccine complexes or treatments that support the Chinese government and people in their efforts to combat the respiratory condition.
Pereira emphasized that the spaces of the Embassy and Consulates General, as well as the enabled medical post, will remain available for any query or situation.
Among other issues, he acknowledged and described as exemplary the response of each Cuban from the beginning of the epidemics and spontaneous support for the present health crisis, which reflects the values instilled in the Revolution.
He also praised the work of the government, people and health professionals of China for their tireless work to curb and overcome epidemiological adversity. / PL
