Alternative therapy benefits people with disabilities in Holguín

An alternative therapy based on homeopathy, benefits people with disabilities in the province of Holguín, as part of programs to improve the quality of life of this sector of the population.
The treatments contribute to alleviate sequelae such as muscle and joint pain, common in patients with cerebral palsy and other conditions, Esperanza Giring, a specialist in this branch, told ACN news agency.
She pointed out that medicines, although not a cure, provide relief for these people, who require wheelchairs to move from one place to another.
Homeopathy is also used in the treatment of migraine, arthritis, wounds and menstrual cramps, through natural compounds such as chamomile and belladonna, with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, she said.
These medicines are also used in the elderly, children and other prioritized sectors within the health system in Cuba.
Holguín has a health center, located in the historic center of the city dedicated to promoting the use of this alternative therapy, because of the existing drug deficit due to the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the island for about 60 years. / ACN
