Holguin Hospital to Start New Surgical Treatment

Kidney diseases have a high incidence in Holguin due to the effects of high temperatures, which has made them a health problem.
Hence that medical treatments for the disease will impact the quality of life of those affected, such is the case of high renal surgical treatment, a surgical procedure to be carried out for the first this year in the Clinical-Surgical Hospital "Lucía Iñiguez Landín" of this northeastern territory.
Its director, Dr. Luis Manuel Garcia Niebla, said they plan to begin the surgical treatment of endoluminal kidney diseases but of the upper urinary tract and cited the example of kidney stones which can be operated by this procedure.
He added that the hospital has the necessary instruments and trained personnel to perform it.
The introduction of this surgical procedure will represent greater possibilities of treatment for the patients, who do not have to move to other provinces of the country to be treated.
Nephrologists recommend to the population to check their kidneys at least twice a year in order to prevent kidney diseases. It is also advisable to achieve healthy lifestyles, adequate food, keep weight under control and eliminate toxic habits, effective actions that prevent the progression to kidney damage, given that the success of any pathology is in prevention.
