Workshop on Rheumatic Diseases to be held in Holguín

The 3rd Territorial Workshop on Rheumatic Diseases in Childhood and Adolescence, organized by the Provincial Chapter of Rheumatology, will take place on March 21st in the city of Holguín, Cuba.

The event, which will have the participation of specialists in pediatric and adult rheumatology, aims to promote knowledge and updates on Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and other rheumatic diseases affecting children and adolescents.

The workshop seeks to improve medical care for pediatric population and promote health, according to a note published in the institutional Facebook profile of the Lucía Íñiguez clinical surgical hospital.

Doctors Alberto Alberteris Rodríguez, Danay Legrá Cintra, and Orlando Paneque Landrove will lead the event that will focus on Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.

The program will include conferences, panels, and case presentations on the diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of JIA.

The Cuban Journal of Rheumatology describes Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis as " an inflammatory and systemic disease affecting individuals under 18 years old. It is the most common rheumatic disease in children and adolescents, with diverse clinical forms. It encompasses several clinical manifestations, all with an inflammatory condition causing arthritis."
