Holguín to train anesthesia technicians

In response to the demand of the National Health System to increase human resources in hospital institutions for the specialized care of seriously ill patients, the mid-level technician in anesthesia course will soon begin for the first time in Cuba, and the first steps are being taken in Holguín to guarantee the registration and training of these professionals.
According to the professor of the Admission Department at the University of Medical Sciences of Holguín (UCMHo), Yanela Benítez, “to date, the process of receiving applications for the call is planned for the entire month of November, while the granting of the degree will be held December 2nd.”
Those who opt for the Anesthesia Technician modality must maintain a good social performance, as this work implies a material responsibility associated with specific resources.
Although the Admission Department belonging to the UCMHo is working on the preparation of the file, the registration will be made effective at the Arides Estévez Sánchez Medical Sciences Branch.
The training of a mid-level technician will take place over two years, full-time, linked to hospitals. There is a teaching staff prepared to successfully undertake this necessary training.
