Second Symposium on Arterial Hypertension held in Holguín

High blood pressure (HBP), more than a syndrome, is the main marker of the cardiovascular system aging, which is why this disease constitutes an important identifiable factor that prevents man from living a potential 120 years, hence the need for influence society to adopt healthy lifestyles.
In this sense, the Holguín Chapter of the Cuban Society of Cardiology developed this May 17, the Second Updated Symposium on HTA with a Multidisciplinary Approach in person and online, with the purpose of reviewing the topic in the order of its diagnosis and management from the perspective of medical specialties closely related to the care of hypertensive people and also to prevent this disease.
In nine conferences, the participants in the plenary session, held in the theater of the Vladimir Ilich Lenin provincial hospital, in various parts of the province and outside borders, they managed to receive updated topics on the diagnosis and classification of high blood pressure (HTN), HTN imaging, hypertensive kidney damage and pharmacological treatment of systemic HTN, among others.
Dr. Reyber Jesús Domínguez Pérez, president of the Holguín Chapter Cuban Society of Cardiology, pointed out that these meetings have the objective of increasing the perception of such a serious problem and the many consequences of HTN for human health.
At the event, attended by nearly 50 medical students and prestigious professors, served to honor a group of workers with the recognition “Master of Cardiology in Holguín,” deserving of the distinction, awarded by the Holguín Chapter of the Cuban Society of Cardiology.
