The medical emergency transportation service in the province of Holguín has been affected by the shortage of vehicle parts and pieces. This scenario will improve in the current year 2024 with the arrival of nine ambulances to the territory.
Willian Puentes Martínez, head of Transport at the province’s General Division of Health (DGS), said that the ambulances that will arrive in Holguín, includes five Foton manufactured by the Chinese company brand vehicles and two manufactured by Mercedes Benz, which were joined by two other second’hand ambulances.
Medical transport is key in ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate medical care. Hence the need for a rapid response to emergencies, with safe transportation, so that patients receive the treatment they demand in the shortest time possible.
The new Chinese ambulances are part of a batch of 99 vehicles purchased in 2023 to strengthen the fleet of the Cuban Public Health Service. (Source: Radio Angulo)
