Holguín: several Health works conclude in 2023

Of the almost hundred works included in the investment and maintenance plan of the Health sector in 2023, 57 have already been completed, 13 are about to be concluded by the end of December and 24 will continue in 2024.
Although this plan includes about 252 million 765 thousand 400 pesos, the actions carried out have faced impacts with resources and fuel, problems often solved by the support received from the provincial authorities and organizations.
It is estimated that by the end of the year about 205 million 748 thousand 700 pesos have been completed, for 81.4 percent of the execution of the total financing approved for the sector.
Most of the maintenance and construction actions are concentrated in provincial and municipal hospitals; polyclinics with hospitalization service and medical offices, among other institutions, while works in primary and secondary health care are planned to be completed by the end of December.
Yuritza Almaguer González, head of the Department of Infrastructure and Engineering System at the Provincial Health Directorate (DPS), listed among the largest works faced in the period, the neonatology ward of the Vladimir Ilich Lenin university hospital; the microbiology laboratory and the pediatric intermediate therapy unit at the Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja hospital, as well as the neurophysiology laboratory of the surgical- clinical hospital Lucía Íñiguez Landín, where the hemodialysis service is also undergoing renovation works.
The 2024 investment plan also includes the polytrauma guard unit of the V.I. Lenin hospital and more than twenty primary health care works in 10 municipalities, mostly family doctor and nurse offices, polyclinics and the conclusion of the Gustavo Aldereguía Lima general hospital, in Gibara.
Almaguer González added that regarding the celebrations for the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, five works will be inaugurated these days, among them the neonatology room of the Lenin hospital, the first stage of the hemodialysis room of the Lucía Íñiguez and office 45 of the El Macío community.
