Holguín to host Scientific Conference on Stomatology

The Provincial Scientific Conference on Stomatology, Odontos-2022, will be held in-person from September 30 to October 4 in Holguín, with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences and scientific results among specialists and students from the territory.
Convened by the Stomatology career of the University of Medical Sciences and the Provincial Council of Scientific Societies of Public Health, the event is part of the activities to celebrate the Day of Latin American Dentistry and will be dedicated to the beginning of teaching of the specialty in Holguín, its founders and the Artemio Mastrapa Clinic, on its 50th anniversary.
It will bring together specialists, residents and technicians, as well as professionals related to dentistry in the territory.
Edna García Masías, head of the Stomatology career, the promotion of oral health, dentistry in times of COVID -19 and disease prevention are among the topics for debate.
According to the program, the pre-event courses will take place on Friday, September 30, at the Provincial Center of Scientific Societies, where participants will discuss aspects related to periodontal disease, chronic pathology, which is a risk factor for acute myocardial infarction; also new guidelines for endodontic treatment, among other topics.
The official opening is scheduled for Monday, October 3, with the presentation "Homeopathy, for oral conditions". The agenda also includes the presentation of books related to the specialty, which are part of the bibliography to be consulted by students and dentists.
