COVID-19 in Holguín: Not to be overconfidence

Holguín shows a better epidemiological scenario; however, this is the province with the highest report of cases confirmed in the country and the one that contributes the highest number of deaths, with a fatality rate above one percent.
At the end of October, the confirmation of autochthonous cases in the territory experienced a reduction of 60.3 compared to September.
At the end of week 43, the lowest diagnosis rate of the last 10 weeks and the number of subjective cases were reached, while the positivity to the antigen test decreased from 12.0 to 8.1 percent.
Regarding the incidence rate of autochthonous cases, from 136.1 per 100 thousand inhabitants it decreased to 89.3.
Dr. Osmany Ricardo Puig, Second Degree Specialist in Hygiene and Epidemiology, warned that before the flexibility of measures and resumption of services and processes, the restarting of the school year and the opening of international borders, there cannot be overconfidence in the population.
He said that “now the most important thing, in addition to conclude the massive anti-COVID-19 vaccination, which has allowed until the close of November 3 to supply more than 2 million 378 thousand 235 doses, is make sustainable those personal skills that we have acquired regarding the use of the nasobuco, hand washing, physical distancing and the disinfection of surfaces”.
Although the epidemiological situation today is much more favorable with respect to COVID-19, it is good to warn that in recent weeks the focus of Aedes aegypti has increased, as well as the dengue cases confirmed; therefore anyone with fever or other symptoms should go to the nearest health unit, because the doctor is the right person to distinguish between one disease and another.
