Holguín to begin intervention with vaccine candidate Abdala

The province of Holguín prepares the conditions to begin in the next few days the intervention with the vaccine candidate Abdala in risk groups, specifically with health workers, students of Medical Sciences and other vulnerable people in the territory.
In this first stage, the three doses of Abdala will be applied to 45 thousand 375 people, of which 38 thousand 43 workers in the sector and 7 thousand 332 students; in addition, a higher figure will be reached to include other individuals at risk.
In meeting with the Provincial Defense Council (CDP), the director of Public Health in Holguín Katia María Ochoa explained that they are currently working on the certification of vaccination sites in the 14 municipalities, with a view to being validated between Saturday and Sunday, according to the established protocol.
Ochoa added that 47 clinical sites and 69 vaccination points will be opened in the province, with the participation of 276 doctors and 416 nurses duly trained in accordance with good clinical practices.
She specified that the average to be vaccinated per day is 4,528 people and there are three doses to be injected of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine candidate Abdala in a short vaccination cycle, 0- 14 -28 days.
The doctor detailed the requirements to be fulfilled in each of the clinical sites and vaccination points, with prior informed consent and compliance with the inclusion parameters.
For the inspection and monitoring of this activity in the province, it was formed a team chaired by the deputy director general of Health, which will be made up of computer scientists, biostatistics, medical assistance personnel, psychologists, social communicators and other personnel duly trained to guarantee the effectiveness of this important health mission.
